Hypertext
In this class we will look at the emergence of the term ‘hypertext’ in literary work and see how the characteristic non-linearity of the internet is taken up by writers and artists on the internet. We will consider examples of work that use narrative and text and consider George Landow’s ideas of hypertext as a form of collage.
